He's Getting Away!!!Entered in the 'Macro V' challenge. I caught a bug in my room, and trapped it in an upturned glass, which made for an excellent macro subject. However, the bug refused to stay still for more than a second or two...

CoolantUsed in the 'Complexity' challenge, this is a photo of one of the engines of the SR-71 Blackbird, which was on display below the Blackbird itself in the US Air War hanger of RAF Duxford.

CrosswalkEntered into the 'People' challenge, and taken with the Canon 70-200 and Canon 1.4x Extender II. The view from the observation platform of the Empire State Building, looking down to lower Midtown Manhattan (possibly 34th Street), at all the people busy going about their daily routines.

Shocked!Entered in the 'High Contrast' challenge. A remake (kinda) of my earlier 'OMGWTF' photo.

Underground LineEntered in the 'Leading Lines II' challenge, and got me a top-10 finish. It took me several attempts over many days to get the shot close to how I wanted it.

Golden CurvesEntered in the 'Metal' challenge. Again, pushing my luck a little bit with this one, but I liked it. If you can't guess, it's the headlight assembly of one of the cars out in my street :o)

Remembrance of Lost SoldiersTaken for the 'Beauty' challenge. I admit this was a bit of a long stretch, especially given the slightly cryptic titling, but I love this shot. It was taken in a rural backroad outside Naples, Italy.

Saint Paul'sMy entry for the 'Landmarks' challenge, taken with the Canon EF-S 18-55. Standing on the middle of the Millennium Bridge at night gets fscking cold :o) Part of a crane on the lefthand side was cloned out, but otherwise this photo is as-is.

The WalkerOriginally a candidate for the 'People' challenge but eventually not picked for that, this shot was entered into the 'Free Study VIII' challenge instead. Taken with the Tamron 28-75, down by one of the ponds near the Vietnam Memorial Wall in DC.

Mid FlowEntered into the 'Bokeh' challenge. Taken with the Tamron 28-75 and the built-in flash. Originally taken for my PaD project, I feel that it's got enough bokeh (well, just about) and a bit of interest, which seems to fit this challenge ok.
The original was cropped, focus tweaked, a touch of levels work, and double-bordered. Nice and simple :o)
