01 - Metallic CirclesTaken with the Tamron 28-75 and the Canon 420EX SpeedLite. Another accidental shot taken with the wrong whitebalance that seemed to work better than all the rest. Nothing quite like finding something interesting to shoot in a pile of stacked washing-up :o)
2005-04-02.jpg
02 - The Morning After...?Taken with the Tamron 28-75. Two of my housemates (James and Emily) plus a random stranger (Alex, right), still going strong from last night's boozing (hence the wineglasses etc). Listening to people talk drunk crap at 11am is great entertainment if you're sober ;o)
2005-04-03.jpg
03 - Bored Before BoardingTaken with the Tamron 28-75. Sitting around at the departure gate before my flight to Italy, I took a couple of quick shots of the people around me and out of the windows - the latter were too blown-out, and this is by far the best of the former. Oh, and it was here that I left my coat, which I had to get off the plane and run back to collect just minutes before boarding closed! :o)2 comments

04 - Forgotten Flip FlopsTaken with the Tamron 28-75. A pair of flipflops on the (cold!) floor of the hotel room's kitchen area... yes, my room had a kitchen, very unexpected but cool.1 comments

05 - Caterpiller TrainTaken with the Tamron 28-75. While climbing the steps to the castle, June spotted these caterpillers - about 7 or 8 in total - all following one another in a long joined line. This was the only shot i took, which considering I couldn't see the viewfinder was luckily focused pretty much spot on! Pity I didn't make the DoF a bit less shallow, but hey.

06 - Currency CollectionTaken with the Tamron 28-75 and the Canon 420EX SpeedLite. This is the mix of notes and coins that has been in my wallet these past few days, and I thought it apt that I get a photo of them together, since they're probably the most important 3 currencies in the world.
2005-04-07.jpg
07 - Prongs Of PowerTaken with the Sigma 50mm and the Canon 420EX SpeedLite. A macro shot of the prongs on my new travel adaptor plugs, which I desperately need if I'm to recharge anything while I'm in the US :o)
2005-04-08.jpg
08 - Flying Cat CircusTaken with the Tamron 28-75 and the built-in flash. A fun shot of Clara's cat Tico whilst midair after jumping for a feather-on-a-string :o)
2005-04-09.jpg
09 - Monumental Collision?Taken with the Tamron 28-75. A small jet flying out of DCA which lined up so nicely with the Washington monument. No planes were harmed in the making of this shot :o)
2005-04-10.jpg
10 - Neon EyeTaken with the Tamron 28-75. While inside the NASM 'Wright Brothers' exhibit, I noticed the out-of-place neon signs above the exhibit exits, and took this one shot of one of them.
2005-04-11.jpg
11 - Banking RoundTaken with the Canon 70-200 and Canon 1.4x Extender II. I tracked this gull over the frontage of the Lincoln memorial for several passes, and only managed to get one shot in focus... the very first one! Typical really...
2005-04-12.jpg
12 - Underground? Overground?Taken with the Tamron 28-75. Arlington metro station, blissfully lacking in crowds... And anyone who followed the title of this shot with "wombling free" isn't a kid any more ;oP
2005-04-13.jpg
13 - StripedTaken with the Tamron 28-75. Dawn sunlight, coming in the blinds by the end of my bed (well, clara's bed, but I've been borrowing it while crashing at her place). The window was open, so the slats were moving a bit, giving the slightly irregular pattern.
2005-04-14.jpg
14 - Down The DrainTaken with the Tamron 28-75. A simple shot of the stainless steel washbasin in my hotel room bathroom. I'm too tired from the last coupla days to go outside and shoot something more adventurous :o)
2005-04-15.jpg
15 - Infinite StairwellTaken with the Tamron 28-75. Looking down the stairwell in the hotel, from the 7th floor.
2005-04-16.jpg
16 - Sky ScrapingTaken with the Tamron 28-75. A shot looking up at the Grace building on 42nd street in NYC. Yes, the base of the building really does curve outwards :o)
2005-04-17.jpg
17 - Too Many Photographers?Taken with the Tamron 28-75. Most of the NYC GTG people, all trying to take the same shot of each other off the side of a reflective artwork thingy just off Wall St.
2005-04-18.jpg
18 - Departing/ArrivingTaken with the Tamron 28-75, while sitting in the departure gate are of one of the terminals at JFK International, NY.
2005-04-19.jpg
19 - T-Shirt SuntanTaken with the Tamron 28-75. Yes, I managed to get a tiny bit sunburnt (on the GTG mostly, which is an odd co-incidence, but hey), but not as badly as some occasions in the past. Mental note to self, always remember to take sunblock & hat when shooting outdoors for hours at a time...1 comments
2005-04-20.jpg
20 - Bio BubblesTaken with the Tamron 28-75. Messing around with some bubble wrap, along with trying different things in post processing...
2005-04-21.jpg
21 - One LightTaken with the Tamron 28-75. Afternoon sunlight, coming through the bottles in the kitchen.
2005-04-22.jpg
22 - Shadow LampTaken with the Tamron 28-75. One of the wall lamps in the hotel room in Munich (I seem to have a habit of shooting PaDs indoors regardless of where I go, very strange), which was both interesting in itself and getting a double shadow from the other roomlights.
2005-04-23.jpg
23 - Got My Eye On You...Taken with the Tamron 28-75. June, messing around wearing my glasses - I'm amazed that I managed to get her head fully in frame, considering how blind I am without them...
2005-04-24.jpg
24 - Endless AirportTaken with the Tamron 28-75. The view down half of Munich Airport's Terminal 2 departure gates, which are all Lufthansa, and are all in one huge long line which just goes on and on and on... Nice building though (only opened less than 2 years ago), and I shoulda taken more shots inside it, but was in a bit of a hurry to catch my flight...
2005-04-25.jpg
25 - Colour ZoomTaken with the Tamron 28-75. After messing about with a few ideas, an experiment with long exposures gave me this shot, which I really liked... Oh, and if anyone can work out what I was I shot, I'll be very surprised :o)
2005-04-26.jpg
26 - ContrastsTaken with the Tamron 28-75. I didn't know where I was going while post processing this shot, but found myself in a place I liked... Then the gfx app crashed on saving and I had to wrack my brain trying to remember what I'd done to get it like that again! Gah! This is as close as I can get it, which for me is good enough.
2005-04-27.jpg
27 - April ShowersTaken with the Tamron 28-75. A small (but loud) thundershower outside drew my attention to the windows, which were covered in rivulets of raindrops, pretty!
2005-04-28.jpg
28 - Rainbow FlareTaken with the Tamron 28-75. A deliberately out-of-focus shot of my lightbulb, at full zoom, gives a lovely lensflare :o)
2005-04-29.jpg
29 - Bite!Taken with the Sigma 50mm. Doing a handheld macro of yourself isn't easy - I had to set the lens to MF, the camera to burst mode, then move the camera slowly out while bursting in the hope of getting the teeth on the focal sweetspot in at least one of the frames! Though ultimately, I went with this blurry but more interesting shot...
2005-04-30.jpg
30 - Pink On GreenTaken with the Tamron 28-75. A real typical April day, sunshine and showers, in which I risked venturing out into the garden during one of the brief sunny spells. I've no idea which type of flower this is, but it's growing wild out there :o)
